It was pitch black as we dangled upside down in a car held in only by our seatbelts, contemplating for a moment if this was the end for me or my buddies. Were they all dead, am I dead? Am I dreaming? Am I bleeding, is anything broken as I checked myself over head to toe.
It all happened so fast. One minute everything was OK, the next I am in a panic that the crumpled car we are trapped in might catch fire as it lay on its roof, engine running and tyres still spinning, somewhere in a random field more than 16,000km from home.
What the hell had just happened?
