This week my wife and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. My wife gifted us seats for Hamilton the Musical which we attended last night and oh what a fabulous musical it is.
A contemporary take on the Founding Fathers of America centred around Alexander Hamilton.
What I loved most was how untraditional it was and yet it somehow worked beautifully. The music was a mix of hip hop, as well as R&B, pop, soul, and traditional-style show tunes. The cast members where mostly non-white performers playing white founding fathers.
When you first hear of this eclectic mixture it does not seem to make sense but in practice it was amazing.
Just because it has always been done a certain way does not mean we should not experiment and think outside the box.
Those who have courage to break from tradition are destined to break the mould and create something truly magical.
Are you colouring outside the lines?
