Increasingly, people are telling me how busy they are. In their family life as well as in their business life. Busy, busy, busy.
The further up the ladder in your career you are, no surprise, but the busier you tend to get. So much so, diaries can be back-to-back for weeks and even months ahead.
What I am also noticing is the busier one gets, the less innovative they become. They get so entranced with being busy, they don’t allow any headspace for ideas to flourish.
The best leaders however, seem to be busy as hell, but always make room for thinking. Whether that be gaps within the schedule itself or specific away time to let the juices flow again.
The key here is to incorporate it in rather than leave it to chance.
