#0131 These Pretzels are making me thirsty

Possibly one (of many) favourite lines from the comedy series Seinfeld. Loved the show and still enjoy watching re-runs and saw this particular episode just the other evening.

I’m reminded of this line every time I see or eat pretzels and it always makes me smirk like a mad-man planning an evil plot in a movie.

Pretzels and thirst then makes me think of beer.

I also associate thirst with knowledge and the relentless pursuit of it. Reading, researching, hacking, testing. There’s always more to learn and there’s always a better way.

Many people I speak to say the same thing. We all want to be a little better.

“If people want to be better, then why are we so afraid of change?”

So rather than focussing on changing, try focussing on learning. Let your natural curiosity take you on a journey of discovery. Sometimes the rabbit holes are the most fun, sometimes structured learning is best for you, but alway be exploring.

Each time we learn something by definition we are changing. By educating ourselves we are not only advancing ourselves, we add value to the businesses we represent and ultimately humanity.

So make sure you take a moment to savour the light, crispy, salty rusk of your pretzels and the earthy, aromatic, pungent tones of your beer but soon after ask yourself….
