Less than 24 hours later I was in the emergency department at the hospital.
The hernia had totally collapsed, and I was in so much pain I had to be stretchered from the horizontal position of the couch at home where I had laid down to rest and could no longer get up.
I had no choice now but to opt for surgery. It was now too painful to ignore, it had to be resolved, NOW.
