I am torn about how much assistance to give versus allowing someone to fail.
“Get out of my way and I will do it” was my default position for a long time but I have learnt to step back and observe only if it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Failure is a certainty in life and it is often the failure that spurs improvement and innovation. Without these missteps we have a false sense of what is acceptable.
Knowingly aiding someone to fail may seem a little harsh but sometimes it is the best thing that can happen to them.
Now I prefer to sit back and admire someone who is willing to give it a go to learn and grow.
