The list never gets shorter.
Whenever I find myself ticking a few things off the to-do list I will invariably add a few more while I am there.
To manage the never ending lists (business & personal) of things to do, use a technique I like to call ‘Shoeboxing’.
A bunch of related tasks ie for a project, get bunched together and placed in a metaphorical shoebox. When I get into that mode, I open a shoebox and focus on what is inside and ignore everything else.
When I am done, I can close the lid, put it back on the shelf and forget about it until next time.
It helps me deal with the overwhelm of hundred of items on a big list and lets me focus on the important few when the time is right.
Give ‘Shoeboxing’ a go.
