#0007 Time is NOT Money

Contrary to popular belief I personally don’t accept that TIME equates to MONEY.

What I do believe is that ACTIONS equate to MONEY.

Think about it for a second, if Time = Money and  most of us spend 30-60 hours a week working, if the belief was correct then wouldn’t we all be earning about the same? NO!!

What makes more sense to me is that the ACTIONS you take with the AVAILABLE time that you have is what will ultimately make the differences to the potential earnings you might attract.

Here are a few of TIPS that help me ACT rather than spend MORE TIME.

  1. When you are reviewing your Business (and you SHOULD be doing this regularly) make sure you have a number of short, medium and long term goals set.
  2. Break down those goals into achievable junks so that each week you can allocate AT LEAST 3 short, 2 medium and 1 long term actions (YES, EACH WEEK)
  3. Then MEASURE yourself each week to ensure you keep on track.

Remember, these tasks should working ON your business rather than IN your business.

These tasks should be allocated in your diary ahead of time (not to be confused with “I’ll do it when I get TIME”)

Be hard on yourself and GET THEM DONE.

Remember, ACTIONS will ultimately equate to MONEY.

What are some things you do to make sure you are achieving your goals? Leave a comment below and let me know.

  1. Hey Jewels,

I am on board with the message of your post but wanted to add that I find the converse to be true. WASTED money = WASTED time. For me it reinforces your message. If you put in the work (take the ACTION) to generate the money then if you waste it you are literally throwing away the time you spent taking the ACTION in the first place. I find that perspective helps to keep in mind a broader view and that in turn helps me to make sure my goals are the right things to be spending my time on.

    Regards,

    Paul
