Have I been approaching it all wrong?
As an introvert I have always struggled with networking events. Breaking into conversations and introducing myself has always been uncomfortable for me, so I generally avoid them.
At my last event something different happened.
First, I beelined for the most connected person in the room. He in turn introduced me to people he felt would be a good connections to make.
It was effortless and way more natural.
If you are the quietest person in the room, seek out your opposite.
