Your idea may be valid, it may truly save the organisation time or money or gain new customers but they keep saying no regardless. Sound familiar?
The reason is not because the project is not sound, it is likely what was communicated.
The cost, functions and benefits are just a portion of the puzzle. What invariably is missing from these pitches is the underlying, unsaid risks and objections. Things that left unresolved can disproportionately influence a decision.
Your job is to resolve or mitigate these unsaid concerns and if there are multiple decision makers, you must understand what each of theirs are.
Remove their roadblocks and you may just have removed yours.
