#0247 Shifting the Deadline

“If it wasn’t for the last minute nothing would get done”

A saying I have used many times in the past. There is nothing like a deadline forcing you to focus and sprint to the finish at the eleventh hour.

Aside from the stress you put yourself under with this habit, you are likely frustrating those around you in the process. Worse still you may not meet the deadline after all as you run out of time even though you had plenty of it to begin with.

A way to counter that crazy rush is to move the deadline forward and (importantly) announce it.

If you know the client wants something by Wednesday, let them know they will have it Monday COB.

This small shift takes you from potentially disappointing your customers to impressing them.

Give it a go.
