How many ‘yeahbuts’ do you have in yours?
Whenever I get invited in to help organisations streamline their communication I generally find a combination of two extremes.
In some areas they neglect to communicate at all, in others the communication is often too much.
When pressed why this particular piece of comms is so detailed, the response is often this:
“yeah but we need to put that in just in case…”
By adding in all the ‘yeahbuts’, we are confusing the 80% who do not need all the info and probably confusing those who do.
Simplify your communication for the majority and have exceptions for the few.
